Instructions for Use

Light the Palo Santo stick gently and slowly over a flame. We recommend using a candle flame. Direct lighting with a lighter isn't recommended as it can introduce unpleasant odors. We want the lighting process to remain natural, as it has been done for thousands of years.

When lighting Palo Santo for the first time, allow a small flame to form. It's important not to blow out this flame. Shamans believe that blowing out the flame releases and extinguishes your soul's energy. Instead, hold the Palo Santo stick vertically upward (flame at the top), allowing it to naturally extinguish and begin releasing its pleasant and deeply relaxing sacred wood aroma.

If the flame doesn't extinguish on its own, wave the stick gently through the air to let the wind put it out.

Walk through your space with the smoking stick, making slow circles as you walk. This extends the smoldering time and life of the Palo Santo smoke.
