When a Palo Santo tree or its branches naturally fall at the end of their life, harvesters let them rest and dry for five to seven years. This resting period allows the wood to develop its characteristic scent that we know today.

Instructions for Use

Light the Palo Santo stick gently and slowly over a flame. We recommend using a candle flame. Direct lighting with a lighter is not recommended as it introduces unpleasant scents into the process. We want the lighting process to be natural, as it was done thousands of years ago.

When lighting Palo Santo for the first time, let a small flame form. It's important not to blow out the flame. Shamans believe that blowing out the flame releases and extinguishes your soul. Instead, turn the Palo Santo stick vertically upward (with the flame at the top) where it will naturally extinguish and begin releasing its pleasant and deeply relaxing holy wood fragrance.

If the flame doesn't extinguish on its own, wave the stick through the air to let the breeze extinguish it.

Energetic Space Clearing

Walk through the space with the smoking stick, making slow circles during your walk. This extends the smoldering time and life of the Palo Santo smoke.
