Dravite is a special variety of Tourmaline crystal. Also known as Brown Tourmaline, it's named after the Drava River. It's recognized by its dark brown or dark yellow color.

It was discovered in 1883 in Dobrova near Dravograd, where several deposits were later found. Another major Dravite deposit was later discovered in Australia — by the Slovenian Soklič family. What a coincidence!
