Hematite Quartz forms when particles of hematite are "incorporated" into Quartz crystals. Unlike classic Quartz crystals which are transparent, these contain dark red to purple specks.

This specimen contains a higher concentration of Hematite than its similar crystal, Lepidocrocite.
