Our ancestors have long known the power and magic of smoke cleansing — of spaces and of themselves. They used a variety of dried herbs gathered from local forests and gardens, and often also reached for dried resins collected from the surrounding trees.
To make burning incense easier, especially resins, they used incense burners made from a range of materials.
At Your Soul Time, you can now find a cast iron incense burner, suitable for resting herbal bundles, burning dried herb fragments, and also for placing charcoal inside — on which you can lay dried herbs or resin during your ritual.
Instructions for Use of the Incense Burner:
(These instructions are written for use with resin or a herb blend.)
- For better heat insulation, you can pour some sand into the incense burner, then place the whole thing on a fireproof surface,
- Using a match, lighter, or a candle flame, light the charcoal and wait for it to begin crackling,
- Place the charcoal in the burner so that the hollow side faces upward (this is where you will add your incense later),
- Wait for the charcoal to fully ignite (you will see a thin glowing line spreading across the entire piece — once it has passed over the whole piece, the charcoal is fully lit),
- Drop a few pieces of resin or incense into the hollow at the top of the charcoal,
- You can walk through your space with the incense burner (be mindful of the heat) or simply enjoy the fragrance and the cleansing atmosphere it creates.
Product Properties:
- The incense burner is made from cast iron,
- Incense burner size: 7.5 cm tall x 8 cm wide,
- Dimensions may vary slightly due to the nature of the product.
