Much like Moldavite, its formation is linked to the impact of an enormous meteorite in the Sahara region. The tremendous heat released on impact, combined with the immense pressure generated, caused the surrounding minerals to melt and form this natural glass.

It is precisely because of this origin that Libyan glass is considered an energetically very powerful stone.

This remarkable natural glass was already used by the ancient Egyptians in their artwork — a scarab amulet made from this magical tektite was discovered in the tomb of Tutankhamun. Collectors of rare curiosities continue to treasure this mysterious tektite to this day.
