Rhodochrosite or Rhodochrosite, this delicate pink-colored mineral, is a manganese carbonate mineral and is the national symbol of Argentina, where most of it comes from.

It is often confused with rhodonite, but rhodochrosite is extremely softer than its sibling rhodonite.

Rhodochrosite often appears in a reddish-brown color, but the best specimens are a soft pink color.

It was first found in silver mines in Romania, and since then, a larger deposit has been found in Argentina.

It is mainly used as a manganese ore. Among other things, this means that rhodochrosite is one of the key ingredients in the production of stainless steel. The finer specimens are now popular among crystal and mineral collectors.
